Best Bars Near Lambeau Field

There's no pregame quite like a Green Bay pregame. The tailgate culture here is part of the experience, but if you'd rather post up somewhere with a roof, a TV, and a cold Spotted Cow, you've got options within a five-minute drive of our Finger Road homes. Here's where we send our guests.

Stadium View Bar & Grill

If you only hit one spot, make it Stadium View. It's the closest thing to a Lambeau institution that isn't the stadium itself — multiple bars, a huge outdoor deck, and a crowd that's there for one reason. Get there early on game day; the line forms before noon for a 1pm kickoff. The Bloody Mary garnish situation alone is worth the trip.

The Stadium District

The cluster of bars on Holmgren Way and Brett Favre Pass is walkable from one another, so you can bounce between a few. 1919 Kitchen & Tap is actually inside the Lambeau Field Atrium, which means you can drink with a view of the bowl without a game ticket. It's a great rainy-day backup.

Kroll's West

Technically more of a restaurant than a bar, but no list is complete without Kroll's. It's been here since 1936, it's cash only, and the butter burger is the move. Order a beer, grab a booth, and watch the away game on the TVs before your home game. It fills up fast — this is a "show up at 11am" kind of place on Sundays.

Downtown options

If you want to escape the stadium crowd, downtown Green Bay is about ten minutes away and has a different energy. Titletown Brewing Co. sits in a beautifully restored 1898 train depot and pours some of the best beer in the city — the Railyard Ale is the one to order. Hagemeister Park has a patio right on the Fox River and excellent cocktails if you're winding down after the game.

A few host tips

• Cash matters. Several of the older spots are cash-only or cash-preferred. Hit an ATM before you head out.
• Walk if you can. On game days, parking near the stadium is a nightmare and pricey. From our properties it's a manageable walk, and you won't be stuck in postgame gridlock.
• Designate a driver early. Green Bay takes this seriously, and so should you.
