What to Pack for a Green Bay Weekend

Rick·November 12, 2024·3 min read

The number one mistake first-time visitors make is underpacking for the weather. Green Bay can be 70 and sunny or 5 and snowing depending on the month — sometimes in the same week. Here's how to pack smart.

The universal list

No matter the season, bring:

  • Comfortable walking shoes. You'll walk more than you think, especially on game days.
  • Layers. A light jacket or hoodie even in summer — evenings cool off near the bay.
  • Green and gold. You'll want it. Trust us.
  • A reusable water bottle and any medications — the nearest store is a mile away but it's nicer not to make the trip.

Because our homes have in-unit laundry, you can pack lighter for longer stays and just do a load mid-trip.

Early season (September–October)

Pleasant but unpredictable. Pack for 50s–70s with a real chance of rain. Bring:

  • A waterproof layer
  • A warmer top for night games
  • Sunglasses — early-season afternoons can be bright

Late season (November–December)

This is the famous cold. Pack like you mean it:

  • A heavy, genuinely warm coat
  • Hat, gloves, and a scarf
  • Thermal base layers if you're sitting through a game
  • Waterproof, insulated boots
  • Hand and toe warmers — buy a pack, you'll use them

A game in December at Lambeau is unforgettable, but only if you're warm enough to enjoy it.

Summer (June–August)

Warm and green. Shorts, t-shirts, and swimwear if you're hitting the bay or a Door County beach. Still bring a light layer for evenings and a rain jacket for pop-up storms.

What you can leave home

Our kitchens come stocked with cookware, dishes, coffee, and basic pantry staples, and we provide fresh linens, towels, and laundry detergent. So skip the kitchen gear and the beach-towel-sized luggage — there's no need.

Forget something?

It happens. A Pick 'n Save is about a mile from our Finger Road homes, and Woodman's (much bigger) is about three miles out. Pack for the weather, and we'll handle the comforts of home.
