10 Things to Do in Green Bay on a Non-Game Day
Most visitors come for the Packers, but plenty of our guests stay a few extra days โ and Green Bay rewards them. Here are ten things we actually recommend when there's no game on the schedule.
1. Tour Lambeau Field
Even without a game, the stadium tour is worth it. You'll walk the tunnel, see the bowl, and the Packers Hall of Fame is right there. Book ahead in season.
2. Bay Beach Amusement Park
Free entry and rides that cost a quarter. It's wonderfully old-fashioned and perfect for families. Bring a roll of quarters and ride the Zippin Pippin.
3. NEW Zoo & Adventure Park
A solid small zoo just north of town with a zip line and aerial adventure course if you want to make a half-day of it.
4. Walk the Fox River Trail
The trail runs right through downtown and along the water. Rent a bike or just walk a stretch โ it's flat, scenic, and a good way to work off a fish fry.
5. The Automobile Gallery
A genuinely impressive collection of classic and exotic cars downtown. Even non-car-people leave impressed.
6. Green Bay Botanical Garden
Beautifully maintained year-round. The WPS Garden of Lights in winter is a local favorite if you're visiting in the holiday season.
7. Titletown District
Across from Lambeau, this is a year-round park with a tubing hill in winter, a turf field, games, and restaurants. Great for kids and a nice place to kill an afternoon.
8. National Railroad Museum
One of the oldest and largest rail museums in the country. You can climb aboard historic locomotives โ more interesting than it sounds.
9. Catch a fish fry on Friday
This is non-negotiable Wisconsin. Friday night fish fry is a tradition, and nearly every supper club and tavern does one. Kroll's, Stadium View, and dozens of neighborhood spots deliver.
10. Day trip to Door County
If you've got a full day, drive 75 minutes north to Door County. It's the kind of place people plan whole vacations around โ cherry orchards, state parks, and waterfront towns. We wrote a whole guide to it.
Make a weekend of it
A Packers game is a great anchor, but Green Bay is an easy place to spend three or four days. All of our homes put you minutes from this list, with a full kitchen and laundry so a longer stay feels like home.
